It has been awhile!!!

We have been very blessed and busy lately. I am staying at home and enjoying a summer with my kids- I have taken the time off from school and the kids seem to find things for me to fill my time with. Steph is working alot- she is gone from 12:00 on. We were able to go to Stake Conference together and to The Olive Garden for dinner. It was wonderful to spend that time with her! Tyler just finished drivers ed. He is now into weight lifting for the summer for football three mornings a week. William is doing well- he is staying out of trouble and hanging out with friends. Erin is often my little shadow, but she does have a few friends that she hangs out with. We went to the library this morning for a wonderful puppet show. Next, we went to the grocery store and then to the pool. It has been a nice day!

I have two slides that I want to post on here- The first is the slides of us the the Poole family at Foss Lake, and the second is of camp- I need to develope the pictures of the girls on the rafts- which I will do the next time I go to Weatherford- if I remember to! Anyway, I do have other camp photos that I am posting- I hope you enjoy them!

The first slide: It was a choppy day at the lake- it wasn't the best lake weather, but it was nice and we had a great time! Dawn and the kids went with us and I was able to take alot of pictures! We played in the sand and had fun with the kids. Bill took everyone out in the boat- the water was probably too ruff for us to be on it, but we didn't have any troubles!

The second slide: It is me and the girls at Girl's Camp for Young Women's. It was so much fun! We went river rafting, sat through a major storm, took the first years snipe hunting, went swimming, slept little, listened to talks, did certifications, and bonded over scriptures and prayer! I think the girls really enjoyed going- we laughed and played alot and Heavenly Father was really there- When you go to something like this, it is as if the world melts away and you are in a spiritual haven.

Guys and Dolls

The Senior High Choir put on an awesome perfomance last night of "Guys and Dolls" It was so well put together and so much fun to watch! The cast had fun characters such as Nathan Detroit played by Zeke Zoschke, Miss Adelaide played by Amanda Jones, and our own Benny Southstreet played by Tyler! He had a major part being the left hand man
of Nathan Detroit- even a few solos! Steph was a Hot Box Girl and they did a fabulous job! I was VERY IMPRESSED and it was a great time!

The end of Track!

Thomas went to State for class A track this past weekend. The girls placed 6th all around and the girls did an excelent job! Chelsea Bates took state in the 400m dash- she is in Tyler's grade. They did fantastic! Tyler went for the 1600m relay with the high school boys, but they were short by just a few seconds to place :( Oh well at least they got to go! Jr High track was a bit more sucessful for our boys-being Freshmen, as they grow, I think they will be unstoppable!
We cut out a few articles from the Thomas Tribune for everyone to see-here is Tyler with a few of his team mates and his times- hope all can read! Great season Terriers!

Just some fun picts!

Erin turns 7!!!

We celebrated Erin's birthday this weekend! She turned 7 on Saturday and it was great fun! We invited the Poole's, Grandma, and Sarah over to celebrate with us and I think it was a great success! We gave her gifts to her early on in the day so she could ride her new bike- the story behind the bike is she has been riding her first bike for the past two years. To say that she has outgrown the bike is an understatement! Bill came in to ask me what I thought about getting her a new one for her birthday. I asked what was wrong with hers and he said "you haven't seen her on it lately have you?" It looked like a grown person riding a mini-bike! She needed a new one, so that is what we got her. We put it in Grandma's garage and told her that she had a really nice gift coming- I kept calling it a "bum bum bummmm"...Once she opened her smaller gifts- a new church outfit, pop and candy from William, a Barbie and outfit from Tyler, and molding foam, a stuffed chicken, and temp tatoos from Steph, she asked where her big gift was at. We said that's it! She looked like she wanted to cry, but sucked it up and said "oh okay- thank you everyone" Then she went to check out everything she got- still a little sad! Bill went into the kitchen to "get a drink" and came out with her bike- he told her to pick up some paper off the floor and when she turned around there was her new bike! She said "YOU GOT ME A BIG GIRL'S BIKE- NO WAY!!!" It was classic! Her face was so funny! She rode it for the rest of the day every chance she got! What great day!

Prom Time!!!

It is Prom Time and Both Steph and Tyler were able to go this year- although they went to different proms on different weekends. Steph went as a server for the annual pre-prom dinner that Thomas High School puts on every year. The Sophmores are voted in by upper classmen and only a handful are invited- she was one of them! She went with a bunch of friends and had a great time! She put on her dress for me so I could take some pictures before getting dressed to serve the dinner- it is a georgeous dress and she looked stunning in it- like a life size Barbie Doll! After the dinner, she changed there at the school into her dress. She was out until 7:00 am! The afterparty was at the Maize-a corn field that some farmer turns into a walk through maize every year- She said it was freezing!! But she had a great time anyway!
Tyler went to prom with a young woman from church- her name is Eva Zitterkob. She is a Junior this year. They are just really good friends- no, not dating- They looked amazing! When we went to choose the tux, we figured that the burgundy tie and vest looked the best with her dress and we were right on the money! Her corsage was just right and she made his boutineer for him out of fabric from her dress! They made such a good looking couple! And they put up with three different mom's and a sister; me, Jeri (Eva's mom), Dawn (my friend's home that we invaded for the event- thank you so much Dawn!), and Steph- taking pictures! Then we went to the event and watched them enter on an elaborate red carpet compete with red carpet, lighted arches, valet parking, and announcements on arrival! It was so cool! Ty said he had a great time and he is currently sleeping it off as I type! I hope you enjoy the pictures- it was fun taking them!

This past week

What a busy few days!!!
I went to the track meet this past week- Thomas placed third. It was an entertainingly good afternoon. Tyler did the long jump, ran the100, the 400, the 400 relay, and 1600 relay. He did well considering he ran against seniors and he is only a junior.
Ryan- my brother- came here on Saturday. We spent good quality time together. We had many, many visitors including Sara- a girl I hope to be something serious for Ry in the future. As my grandmother would say- "she is our kinda people!" They are the ones on the trampoline.
On Saturday morning, our boxer had her puppies- oh they were so cute and tiny- she only had two, but we had hopes that she would do well with them. No such luck. The only thing I can figure is she moved them one too many times and didn't feed them properly. This was her first liter. Sadly, we buried the last one this afternoon.
We went to OKC today- my father-in-law went into surgery and Bill stayed there at the hospital while I took Ry to take care of the business that he had to take care of this morning. My father-in-law pulled threw just fine- we are so relieved! It was wonderful to see him full of color and awake when we walked into the hospital this afternoon.
It was a full weekend with lots to look forward to in the coming weeks!

Jayden and our visit

While we were in the city today, we were able to spend some time with my nephew Jayden! What a doll! He is 2 1/2 and he is a ball of energy!. He sang "Happy Birthday". "Itsy Bitsy Spider", and "A,B,C's" to us. He talked to Grandma on the phone and told her all about the motorcycle that he saw down the street. He is getting so big now! Ryan was able to spend some time with him, which is great since he lives so far away. I am glad that me and Steph were able to be a part of this. By the way, Steph taught Jayden to take pictures with her camera- the last two in the montage are his handi work!! We had a great time!!

Three's the charm

The rule of three: Bad things always happen in groups of three- we have had our three! We own a Red Ford Ranger Pickup and our daughter was driving it before we bought her this little red car in the pictures above. The clutch went out in the truck right after she started to drive her car. Two, the repairs to my car as I mentioned in the before this one. Now it is this- I woke up to a crunching sound this morning to find my daughter had tangled with her dad's work truck bumper. She was in a panic. I have learned in this journey as a parent that when your children are in a state, it is extremely important that you don't panic. I held her and told her to calm down- that I was relieved that she was alright and this could have been so much worse! I untangled the two vehicles and went to work pulling the fender out. The car is drivable so, it is not an emergency. I am just thankful that we have had our three! The funniest part was she was taking a friend home from a sleepover- that friend texted later to tell Steph that she was thankful that she had something to tell Steph's great grandchildren.

What's With the Title?

I know we all have a special place in our hearts for that big purple and yellow spotted dinosaur- he was my kids favorite when they were little. Now, they would kill me if they knew I used it to help with our last name- Arney- I have to laugh at this. Like "Barney" with out the "B" was how I once explained to a young child on how to say my last name. She understood it right away! It is a wonderful name, and amazingly, it is a prominant name here in Western Oklahoma, yet we are not related to any of them!I like the analogy of the big purple dinosaur- he was a little disjointed if I can say so freely! Sweet, loving, fun, and kinda off in an endearing way! That is how my life is ran most of the time. I never really know which way is up, yet I seem to make it all work.Take today for instance- I just bought a "new" used car for $2500. It is a great little car that I can put the mileage on. It ran great for a week and a half and then as I pulled into town- a mile away from home after 20 miles into the new tank of gas and it just quit! I was in a state of shock though I probably should have expected this to happen.I count my blessings- the car quit yes, but I was near home if I needed to go on foot. My hubby was at home, so he was my knight in shining armor and came to my rescue. He brought our mini van and imagine this- the bumpers matched! So he "bumper pushed" the car home! No tow truck necessary! We assumed that the repair was going to be really expensive- $700 worth to change out a fuel pump. We were prepared to let the car sit until.... but it so happened that Dawn, my very dear friend, is married to a very talented and smart man who was my second knight. He found out what was wrong with the car and he is fixing it this weekend with my husband- $50 instead...see kinda off in a good way- like the purple big guy. Gotta love it! I do! It is going to be a great ride! I am going to love it all the way! So jump in and hang on-as it is often bumpy!!!
